WHO WE ARE
Lanka Tourism Society was formed in 2016 under the patronage of His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka to promote Sri Lanka as one of the premier tourism and investment destinations in Asia. The President of Sri Lanka announced 2019 & 2020 as the Tourism Investment Years in order to promote and encourage both local and foreign tourism related investment within the period but unfortunately due to the Covid 19 pandemic the programme was not able to be properly executed.
Lanka Tourism Society is involved in Promoting Inbound Tourism , Bringing Foreign Tourism Related Investment , Funding Tourism Related Projects , Providing Member Services such as Negotiating Concession Prices and Tax Deductions for Tourism Vehicles , Building Materials both local & importing Materials to develop Hotels , Serviced Apartments , Homestay Housing ect , Organizing International Investment and Tourism Development Conferences , Operating Tourism Related Entertainment Projects and Conducting Training Programmes and Workshops to Empower Sri Lankan Talent towards the development of Sri Lankan Tourism.
Lanka Tourism Society organised the Asia Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference under the Patronage of His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka, in association with Bench Events - United Kingdom. More than 300 foreign investors and international delegates attended from 48 countries from Europe, Asia & Pacific, and North America. The event was successfully organised and it is one of the most fascinating higher profile conferences held in Sri Lankan history.
We presented the Lanka Tourism Society and our future plans & activities to the Present President His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and we are pleased to re-launch Lanka Tourism Society with the blessings of The President His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Lanka Tourism Society introduced the Sri Lanka Tourism Channel in 2025 “ The Nation’s Tourism Voice ' is the First & Only English Medium Tourism Development Channel exposes Tourism News, Views, and Interviews to promote Sri Lanka as The Charming Paradise in Asia " to the global tourism community to visit and invest in Sri Lanka. “ Sri Lanka Towards 5 Million Arrivals” tourism development programme is promoted via the Sri Lanka Tourism Channel.
Our goal is to make Sri Lanka The Charming Paradise as the Number One Tourism destination in Asia and Sri Lankan Tourism Industry as the Number One Foreign Income Generator in the island.
